  1. OH MY GOD! She was in FLDS!!!!! I feel horrified for people like her and her parents being born into it. So So Sad! She is so lucky she got out

  2. You’re super strong and brave. Your Mom… oh my gosh… what could of happened. Respect to all of you. Thank you for sharing. Everyone has something in their past or life, not everyone isn’t brave enough to share with others to educate. Thank you. 💜

  3. at the end of the day the booth churches have the same foundation. LDS and FLDS are both based on white supremacy and man leading. I'm glad I escaped both ngl. I dont understand when she said that LDS is based on positivity and good vibes lmao where??? you are prohibited to do a lot of things. what's wrong w coffee? what's wrong w having a beer every once in a while??? it's still brainwashing but low key

  4. I think it’s really important you emphasized that they were generally really good people led astray. That’s wonderful that you don’t feel the hate towards them all that you love them and just recognize their current situation.

  5. 27:30: Love and accept everyone – even homosexuals. The facts that this is preceived as an achievement suggests that the LDS church has a way to go with regard to love and tolerance.

I appreciate the honest and thoughtful video. I think you found a home in the LDS church because you fit into a mold of the acceptable member. But what happens to people who don't fit that mold? In my experience, they either spend a lifetime trying to change or they leave the church and are seperated from family and community.

  6. Hey April my grandparents also left he LDS religion for the FLDS and my dad left that religion at 12, a lot of my family went to Alta academy! I DM’d on Instagram to see if you know any of my family members!

  7. I love you April, so much more after hearing your story. It’s incredible how God uses our testimonies to grow and change us. I could tell after us meeting that your accent sounded like you were from that area of Utah! I’m so proud of you for sharing your story. Love you guys!!!

  8. I just can’t imagine seeing firsthand how religion is primarily used to control people and then continuing to practice a similar religion like if that were me I would not want to be around anything religious ever again. Cognitive dissonance I guess.

  9. There is a very large polygamist group in my area! They practice AUB, and being LDS I was always very curious of them. They truly are the best people and slowly but surely they are making their way down to the lds church in our area!

  10. I think you are very brave to tell your story on social media. I enjoy your videos and podcasts. Thank you for sharing.

  11. How convenient the "prophets" home was located on the same lot as their school that is also hidden from the public….

  12. The verse that’s stumped every LDS person I’ve met to this day is Matthew 7:15 in the Bible when we are warned to beware of false prophets. How do you justify the LDS prophets with this knowledge?

  13. I don’t mean offense, but I don’t see how you could stand by the “real LDS church” having dealt with the FLDS. I consider Joseph Smith just as false of a prophet as the more recent ones. As time goes on, things become easier to accept as we’re removed. I think those that were initially brainwashed by Smith just didn’t have the same modern influence to recognize that it was fake truth.

  14. Bless you April you are an amazing person never think your anythink less just because of your past living I love your family channel and you and davey are a true inspiration to how family's should be💞👏
Hugs and lots of love to u davey and your beautiful children💕
    Love Tee from the UK🇬🇧💞💞💞💞

  15. Been watching since "April's Life" and had absolutely no idea this was April's upbringing. So many things are making more sense now! You're a beautiful family and have been a great example. Loved learning more through this podcast. Much love from this Latter-day Saint member in Australia. Xo

  16. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR STORY AND FOR BEING SO HONEST WITH EVERYTHING! YOUR MOM IS AN ICON FOR YOUR FAMILY AND WHAT A SUPER MOM LOVE HER FOR WHAT SHE DID!

  17. No issue with the idea of polygamy. BUT….. humans are jealous horny people. It’s the religion of neglect and pain…..in the name of selfishness.

  18. so if warren jeffs was a false prophet then what proves that any other prophet is true? isn't a prophet just someone that god talks to? god talks to you, no? are you a prophet? i do think that y'all are good-hearted people, but the lds church is wrong, period. the "history" is all total bullshit.

  19. Warren Jeffs was arrested for sexually assaulting minors, not marrying them off young… all though that was still something he was doing.

  20. What importance do you place on the founder of your religion, Joseph Smith? And since your religion is fairly young, does that mean everyone who lived before the founding of Mormonism is lost?

  21. Why do you guys call a preacher a prophet? I'm just so curious because I'm a Christian. And I just dont understand why you call a preacher a prophet. No hate replies I'm just generally curious.

  22. My husband joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints two months after we were married. Yippeeeeeee 🧡❤💜💚💙💛

  23. Thank you, thank you, thank you for sharing this. I know The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints is the only true and living church on the earth. 💛💙💚💜❤🧡

  24. The women of the FLDS, from what I have read, are extremely undervalued. I have heard a lot of positive stories of women leaving the FLDS, the Order, the Kingston Clan, and others. They are so brave, and yes, they are kind people. If you haven’t read Rachel Jeffs’ book, I recommend it. She really gives a personal and intimate look of how it felt to grow up FLDS.

  25. I love these subjects. Thank you for sharing with us. I know this is very personal but so much can be learned by and for all. Much love.

  26. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day saints is the Mormon Church, right? The Mormon Church is not a Christian church because Mormons do not believe in the divinity of Jesus Christ. You were in a cult and I'm glad you escaped. But, I'm sorry to break it to you, anyone who knows what your church is, also considers the organisation you are now in, is also a cult. The organisers put ''Jesus Christ'' in their title to fool people.

  27. April, you have such a beautiful, kind heart. God truly has blessed you with a beautiful family❤️, and what a blessing to have the discernment God has given you🙏🏻

  28. My hope is that your kids get a choice in what they want to believe and not be brainwashed by parents of their decisions. Kids should have a right to make their own choice in their spiritual beliefs and not to be made to feel guilty, or fearful, that they don't believe as mom and dad do.

  29. Just came across this channel. Didn't know you had your own channel! Can anyone tell me/does anyone know when this channel was created? Is it pretty new?

  30. Thank you for sharing your story April. I know a lot of people are focusing on the negative and that's not fair to you. It takes a brave person to share their personal story so openly to the world. Some people are obviously ungrateful and dont understand what it takes to do what you've done. Thank you. Truly. You've opened my eyes and perspective to polyamory.

  31. I think families could be healthier and happier without organized religion. I hope you will allow your children to choose their own path when they get older.

  32. Have you pulled the cockroaches from the ice cream In the truth facts Today? Have you read the church's essays or ever read the CES letter?

  33. Do you know there is shunning and disowning in the Latter day saint church today? I believe the church talks terribly about those who leave calling them apostates, fallen, lost, confused, followers of Satan, or that they have desires to sin. That's not true I stand with many who have left the church h and have found a true Christ Like Love that I never found in the church.

  34. I am kinda sad that after seeing the lies of the FLDS you became a Mormon. The FLDS was rooted in Mormonism. Joseph Smith believed in polygamy. The Mormon church believes that Joseph Smith was a true prophet. I hope one day you see and discern the errors of the Mormon church. I really like hearing your story. Blessings.

  35. April said she would call him a prophet for a bit but then call him a false prophet.. according to the Bible, every person would calls themselves a prophet today, is a false prophet.

  36. How about having respect for what someone else believes… live and let live ? … not for you and you can’t tolerate what others believe , I have an answer..

  37. im very confused what about 8 passengers bc they go to they church too and their kids go to a private school and they live in the mountains and ruby says tht she wants to go to the "temple" to go talk to the "prophet"

  38. I just want to say thank you April for your honesty and transparency on your life. I am not in the faith but I have studied religion in college. You are an amazing mom and often look up to you.

  39. i understand why people are confused why she converted to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. A church that has the same foundation of the FLDS church. But just because someone starts their own church because the old one doesn’t support what isn’t right, and that person wants to continue doing that wrong thing. That doesn’t mean the leaders have the same intentions or two churches have the same teachings. I believe that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is true because it uses both the bible and book of mormon, because of its teachings, the way it gives me comfort, and they way it’s completely centered on Christ. I respect everyone’s beliefs❤️ I just that it would be cool to share mine. Have an awesome day

  40. I think it would be great for April do a reaction series to escaping polygamy series on tlc. I would love to see that and her opinion on it.
